Lol you cant "make" it to where you get unemployment.
If you quit - you don't get unemployment
If you do something wrong on purpose to get fired - you don't get unemployment because the company had a valid reason for firing you
Stop trying to find the 'easy way out' - man up, and look for another job, and then once you've found it, quit your current one.

Well, you could always quit. But with the way the economy is, good luck finding a good paying job.
And welfare is a great program for people who are injured and can't work or have been laid off and can't find a job. Not for lazy asses who hate their job and want to mooch of hard working American's tax dollars.

If your the only employee, demand higher pay, say- Im the only worker, I only get 1/50 of the money i earn. I should get a higher amount, without me, you would not earn money.

I say you hit the iron while its hot! Just don't go like: " Okay! Whatever! They give me this I'll take it! " No! If you feel you own the right to ask for more, than do it! Else...there is a little pen located just near your bed; take it, and on a white paper write: " I quit a-s-s hole! "

Tell them that you're not getting paid enough to afford your needs, and hence are thinking of quitting soon. If they really want you to stay, they will offer you a raise.

ask them to pay you more, if you have to write out everything you feel you do for them and present it to them or you can have them fire you but i dont know how you will do that ( thats how u get unemployment) but i would stick it out

How easliy replaceable are you? It is pretty easy to find someone to answer phones. Do you do any sales or sales support?
If they can get someone tomorrow who can do your job you are out of luck.
GO back to school and get the skills that will allow you to make a greater contribution and you will get paid more.
Maybe they will pay for some classes if the classes can help you at the company you work for.

If you don't want to be there, quit.
In the month of April there were 271,226 people that were left unemployed, I bet most of them would be thankful to have your job.

Did they lie to you and say you were making more money (for 3 years)? You accepted the job, nobody forced you, right? If you don't like where you work quit. You do not deserve unemployment, that is definitely not what it is for. (I don't like my work so could they just pay me not to?)
Answered by Nate D
A:
Sure you can refuse to go to work. It's called quitting, and you wouldn't be eligible for unemployment.
Look for another job until you find one that will pay you what you feel you are worth, then quit.

Unfortunately if you quit, or if you choose not to come to work and get fired, you will not qualify for unemployment. I have been with the current company that I work at for more that 5 years, and still am not getting paid market value. I feel in the same way as you, and I can tell you that I am getting about 50% - 60% of what you're making right now, per year. The best thing to do, is to continue showing up for work, and to continue doing the best job that you can do, and maybe at some point they will increase your salary higher. That is what I have been trying to do as well for the job that I am on. Hopefully it will work out for you.

if you quit, you don;t get unemployment - and unemployment will be 50% of your former pay at best, so how will you survive on $200 a week?
a low skilled job like receptionist doesn;t exactly require a college degree or advanced job skills - that's why you don;t make money - get more education or job training if you want a better paying job

Speak to your superiors (intelligently and calmly). Taking calls does not guarantee the company makes money from the result of your handling of that call. Most places it does require teamwork. To receive unemployment your position must be the result of elimination of your position a.k.a., layoff, not quitting, not being fired through fault of employee.

refused to go to work & they can refused to pay you
quit your job & you cannot collect unemployment
if you feel that you are underpaid, speak with your supervisor
