What experience is needed to become a medical assistant?
Asked by MLUV80
I looked in the Occupational Handbook and it said that most recruiters prefer to hire Medical Assistants with certification, so is it best to be certified? And has anyone became a medical assistant even though they did were not certified? I hope I'm making sense :-P Any ones experience would help :-)

And with that CMA you will have wasted your money... It is not "cost effective to have to have a student loan and barely make over minimum wage...\ Just ask my assistant find an actual career you would like get a student loan , and go to school for that and make the money you think you are worth!!! good luck

With this, you need to go through your medical assistant training. Once you have done this, you're eligible to sit a test where you can get certified, and then you will a CMA.
